For
there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be
testified in due time. 1 Timothy 2:5-6.
As you strive to live a well pleasing life to God,
there is one error you must strive to avoid, which is the spiritual error of
having a man; either a Pastor, a Mentor or Spiritual leader, as a middle man or
an intermediary between you and God. This might seem very innocent but I tell
you, it is the root and beginning of idolatry. This includes but not limited to
the use of mediums like salt, water, oil, handkerchiefs, mantles, stones, sand,
etc, in prayers to reach God.
Faith alone in God, through His Son Jesus Christ is
enough for you to overcome (1 John 5:4).
It is an irony that some so-called Pastors that are
supposed to be pointing and directing people’s heart and lives to God the
Father are presently standing as intermediary between the people and their God.
They are pointing people’s focus on themselves as supper men. They have
successfully created an impression on their followers that without them, they don’t
have access to God. They have claimed
that God would have to speak to them before He speaks to you. They have said that
without them being in your life as a prophet, you can’t prosper nor be blessed.
These are all false doctrines from the pit of hell. This is aimed at subjecting
you under them so as to control your life.
When Jesus Christ died, the veil of the temple was
torn from top to bottom (Mark 15:38). What is the significant of that? It
signifies that all who before now could not have access to the Holy of Holies,
could now come into the Holy of Holies where God dwells. There is no more need
for any High Priest, Prophets or Levites to plead your course for you.
There was a need for an intermediary between God
and the people/nation in the Old Testament. The Holy Spirit as occasion demands
comes upon men to function in various offices as Prophets, Priest, Kings or
Judges in the Old Testament. As time progresses, God promised that a time would
come when He would pour His Spirit upon all flesh (Joel 2:28). And that was
talking about the New Testament era where everyone that believes in Jesus Christ
Who is the initiator of the New Testament, will be eligible to be filled with
God’s Spirit. So, you can see that the outpour of God’s Spirit is not excluded
to only Pastors, Prophets, Evangelist, Apostles or Bishops, but to all who
believes.
That aside, one of the fundamental things that
Christ came to do for all men is to reconnect men to their Father, God
Almighty. You now have access to God the Father if you are born again. So, quit
looking for men of God to pray for you. God loves you and He longs to have a
one-on-one relationship with you. He doesn’t wish that any man or anything
should come between you and Him. Please, take advantage of this privilege.
Even, Christ did not come to always be standing
between you and God. God is now your Father. No man should stand between you
and God. Any man who does that to you is misdirecting you into idolatry. Don’t
be an “Idolatrous-Believer”.
